Terms and Conditions of Use
Last updated: 12 September 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions of Use govern access to and use of the TangoEvents AU website, located at https://tangoevents.au/, and the event-listing, advertising, promotional and related services provided through the website.
TangoEvents AU is operated by the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc.
TangoEvents AU is financially supported by Morena Dancewear Pty Ltd. Financial support does not, by itself, make Morena Dancewear Pty Ltd responsible for the operation of the website, the approval of event listings or the administration of these Terms.
In these Terms, “TangoEvents AU”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc. in its operation of TangoEvents AU. “You” and “your” refer to any person accessing the website or submitting information, content, advertising or event details to us.
By accessing the website, submitting an event, requesting an organiser profile, purchasing advertising or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not submit content, purchase services or continue using the website.
2. Related Policies
These Terms should be read together with our:
- Editorial Guidelines;
- Privacy Policy;
- any conditions displayed on an event-submission, advertising, sponsorship, registration or payment page; and
- any written quotation, invoice or agreement issued by TangoEvents AU for a paid service.
These documents form part of these Terms to the extent that they apply to your use of TangoEvents AU.
If there is an inconsistency between these Terms and the Editorial Guidelines, these Terms will apply to the extent of that inconsistency.
If there is an inconsistency between these Terms and a specific written agreement for a paid service, the specific written agreement will apply to the extent of that inconsistency.
3. Purpose of TangoEvents AU
TangoEvents AU provides public calendars and information relating to Argentine Tango events in Australia.
The website may include information about:
- Milongas;
- Practicas;
- classes and workshops;
- festivals and Special Events;
- visiting teachers, maestros, performers and musicians;
- organisers, schools, associations and venues;
- TangoEvents AU and Association activities;
- advertisements and sponsored listings; and
- other activities considered relevant to the Australian Argentine Tango community.
TangoEvents AU is an information and promotional platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not the organiser, venue operator, teacher, ticket seller or service provider for events listed on the website.
4. Eligibility to Submit Events or Content
Anyone may browse the public website. However, event submissions, organiser profiles, advertising requests and other formal submissions must be made by a person aged 18 years or older.
By submitting information on behalf of an organiser, school, company, incorporated association or other entity, you represent that:
- you are authorised to act for that entity;
- you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf;
- the entity genuinely conducts or supports the activity described;
- the submitted information is accurate and not misleading; and
- you have all permissions needed to provide the submitted content.
TangoEvents AU may request evidence of your identity, authority or the registration of the relevant organiser, school, business or association.
5. Organiser Eligibility and Verification
Organisers and schools may be required to provide an Australian Business Number, incorporation number, registered business name or another recognised state or national registration record.
The registered or publicly identifiable name should demonstrate a reasonable connection with the organiser, school, association or business requesting the listing.
Sole trader or personal Australian Business Numbers may be accepted where there is a reasonable and publicly identifiable connection between the individual and the relevant Tango school, organiser or event.
We may check publicly available business registers, websites, social media pages and other appropriate sources to verify an organiser, event or submission.
Verification by TangoEvents AU is an administrative eligibility check only. It does not constitute accreditation, certification, endorsement or a guarantee of the organiser or its services.
6. Event and Organiser Submissions
By submitting or requesting publication of an event, organiser profile, image, update or other material, you confirm that:
- all information is accurate, current, complete and not misleading;
- the event is genuine and is intended to proceed as described;
- you are authorised to submit the information;
- you have permission to publish all names and contact details provided;
- you hold the necessary rights and permissions for all submitted material;
- the material does not infringe another person’s rights;
- the submission complies with our Editorial Guidelines;
- the submission complies with applicable laws and venue requirements; and
- you will promptly notify us of any material change.
Submission of an event or organiser profile does not guarantee publication.
We may seek clarification, supporting information or amendments before approving a submission.
7. Organiser Contact Details
Organiser contact details are subject to our Editorial Guidelines.
Each organiser profile may include no more than:
- one telephone number;
- one email address; and
- one official website address.
Social media pages and profiles, including Facebook, Instagram, Linktree and similar services, are not accepted as official organiser website addresses.
Organiser contact details may be associated with all events published under that organiser. Different contact details cannot ordinarily be assigned to individual events.
We may standardise, edit, omit or decline additional or non-compliant contact details.
8. Responsibility for Event Accuracy
Organisers and submitters are responsible for reviewing their published listings and ensuring that they remain accurate.
You must notify us as soon as reasonably possible of:
- event cancellations;
- postponements;
- changes of date or time;
- changes of venue;
- changes to prices or booking requirements;
- changes to teachers, performers or significant event content;
- changes to organiser contact details; and
- any other information likely to affect a participant’s decision to attend.
TangoEvents AU may periodically contact organisers and request that they review or confirm their published listings.
Failure to respond to reasonable verification requests or repeated failure to keep information current may result in suspension or removal of affected events.
9. Editorial Control
TangoEvents AU retains editorial control over all material published on the website.
We may, acting reasonably:
- edit spelling, grammar, formatting or layout;
- shorten or clarify event descriptions;
- select or change event categories;
- remove duplicated or irrelevant content;
- remove hyperlinks or contact details from descriptions;
- standardise organiser names, venue names and other details;
- decline, crop, resize or otherwise adjust unsuitable images, banners or promotional material;
- request supporting evidence;
- delay publication while information is checked;
- decline, suspend or remove non-compliant listings; and
- correct information that is demonstrably inaccurate.
We will endeavour not to materially change the intended meaning of an approved submission without a reasonable editorial or compliance reason.
10. Refusal, Suspension and Removal of Listings
We may refuse, suspend, restrict or remove a listing where we reasonably believe that:
- the information is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading;
- the event has been cancelled, postponed or materially changed;
- the organiser has not responded to reasonable verification requests;
- the organiser has repeatedly failed to provide timely updates;
- the submission breaches these Terms or the Editorial Guidelines;
- the submission infringes intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights;
- the listing could expose users, TangoEvents AU, the Association or a venue to unreasonable risk;
- the organiser is not authorised to conduct or promote the event;
- the event does not fall within the scope of TangoEvents AU;
- the material is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, threatening or defamatory;
- the listing is being used primarily for unrelated commercial promotion;
- the organiser has materially breached an applicable venue arrangement;
- the organiser’s conduct materially jeopardises an established venue relationship; or
- continued publication could undermine the accuracy, reputation or integrity of the TangoEvents AU calendars.
Where reasonably practicable, we may contact the organiser before suspending or removing a listing.
However, we may act immediately where an urgent correction or removal is reasonably necessary, including where required to protect users, an established venue relationship, TangoEvents AU, the Association or the integrity of the calendars.
11. Preferred Venues and Venue Collaboration
TangoEvents AU and the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc. may maintain collaborative relationships with venues that support Argentine Tango activities and the wider Tango community.
We may identify particular venues as preferred venues where there is an established relationship, negotiated arrangement, community-access arrangement or other form of cooperation between the venue and TangoEvents AU or the Association.
Where TangoEvents AU or the Association assists an organiser with access to, introduction to, booking of or use of a preferred venue, the organiser must:
- comply with the venue’s booking requirements and conditions of hire;
- comply with any reasonable arrangements communicated by TangoEvents AU or the Association in connection with the venue;
- provide accurate information when dealing with the venue;
- use the venue responsibly and for the agreed purpose;
- avoid representing that they have authority to act for TangoEvents AU or the Association unless expressly authorised; and
- avoid conduct that could reasonably damage or jeopardise the relationship between TangoEvents AU, the Association and the venue.
Where TangoEvents AU has indicated that an established collaboration or preferred-venue arrangement exists, organisers are encouraged to contact TangoEvents AU before making independent arrangements involving that venue.
Material misuse of a venue arrangement facilitated or supported by TangoEvents AU, significant non-compliance with venue requirements, unauthorised use of a relationship or introduction, or conduct that reasonably jeopardises an established venue relationship may result in refusal, suspension or removal of associated event listings.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide the organiser with an opportunity to address the issue before taking such action. We may nevertheless act immediately where reasonably necessary to protect an established venue relationship or address an urgent matter.
12. Conduct and Communications
Persons dealing with TangoEvents AU are expected to communicate and behave in a respectful and professional manner.
You must not engage in conduct including:
- abusive or threatening communications;
- harassment;
- discriminatory or defamatory conduct;
- deliberate provision of false or misleading information;
- impersonation of another organiser, individual or entity;
- repeated misuse of submission, contact or communication channels;
- attempts to improperly interfere with editorial decisions; or
- conduct that creates an unreasonable risk to TangoEvents AU, its volunteers, the Association, venue relationships or the integrity of the calendars.
Serious or repeated conduct of this kind may result in submissions being declined and existing listings being suspended or removed.
13. No Endorsement or Guarantee
Publication of an event, organiser, school, venue, teacher, performer, advertiser or third-party link does not constitute endorsement, accreditation, recommendation or approval by TangoEvents AU.
We do not guarantee:
- the quality or suitability of an event;
- the qualifications or conduct of an organiser or teacher;
- the safety, suitability or accessibility of a venue;
- the accuracy of information supplied by an organiser;
- that an event will proceed as advertised;
- the availability of tickets or places;
- the performance of an external booking service;
- that any person will receive a particular benefit from attending; or
- the conduct of participants, organisers or third parties.
Users should make their own enquiries before attending, booking or paying for an event.
14. Bookings, Payments and Refunds for Third-Party Events
Unless TangoEvents AU is expressly identified as the event organiser or seller, bookings and payments for listed events are transactions between the user and the relevant organiser, venue, ticketing provider or other third party.
TangoEvents AU is not responsible for administering or resolving:
- ticket purchases;
- event-entry disputes;
- refund requests;
- booking errors;
- event cancellations;
- payment disputes; or
- goods or services supplied by third parties.
These matters should be directed to the organiser or service provider responsible for the transaction.
15. Events Operated by TangoEvents AU
Where TangoEvents AU or the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc. is expressly identified as the organiser or seller of an event, additional booking, cancellation, admission, venue or refund conditions may apply.
Those conditions will be displayed on the relevant event, booking or payment page or communicated before purchase.
Nothing in those conditions or these Terms excludes any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. TangoEvents AU Special Events
TangoEvents AU and the Association may organise Special Milongas, workshops, community events and other activities during the year.
Income generated from these activities may contribute towards operation and maintenance of the TangoEvents AU website, development of its calendars and activities supporting Argentine Tango within the wider community.
From time to time, TangoEvents AU may designate particular dates for significant TangoEvents AU or Association activities.
Where a significant TangoEvents AU or Association event is scheduled, overlapping promotional placements, Special Event submissions or other submissions for the same locality and date may be subject to additional editorial consideration.
Any decision under this section will be made reasonably, taking into account the nature of the events, existing commitments, the purpose of the calendars and the interests of the wider Tango community.
17. Paid Advertising, Sponsored Listings and Promotions
TangoEvents AU may offer paid advertising, banners, sponsored event listings, promotional placements and related services.
Advertising is subject to availability, editorial approval and any written quotation or invoice issued by us.
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that:
- advertising material is accurate and not misleading;
- all required rights, approvals and permissions have been obtained;
- the advertising complies with applicable laws;
- the supplied artwork meets our technical requirements;
- requested links are accurate and safe; and
- payment is made by the stated due date.
We may decline or request amendments to advertising that is unsuitable, misleading, unlawful, inconsistent with our purpose or likely to harm user trust.
Payment does not give an advertiser editorial control over TangoEvents AU or guarantee approval of any particular wording, design or placement.
Sponsored or paid content may be identified as advertising, sponsored content or a promoted listing.
18. Advertising Periods and Website Availability
The advertising period will be stated in the relevant quotation, invoice, email or written agreement.
We will take reasonable steps to display approved advertising for the agreed period. However, temporary interruptions may occur because of:
- website maintenance;
- hosting or network outages;
- security incidents;
- software or technical failures;
- events outside our reasonable control; or
- urgent compliance or legal requirements.
Where a material interruption substantially affects a paid advertising period, we may provide a reasonable extension, replacement placement, credit or other appropriate remedy, taking into account the circumstances and any rights available under applicable law.
19. Changes and Cancellations of Paid Services
Requests to change, postpone or cancel paid advertising or promotional services must be submitted as soon as reasonably possible.
Whether a change, credit or refund is available will depend on:
- the type of service;
- the notice provided;
- whether work has already commenced;
- whether advertising has already been published;
- costs already reasonably incurred by us;
- the terms of any specific quotation or agreement; and
- rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We will not impose a cancellation condition where doing so would be unlawful or inconsistent with a non-excludable consumer guarantee.
20. Advertising Performance
Unless expressly agreed in writing, TangoEvents AU does not guarantee:
- a particular number of page views;
- a particular number of clicks or enquiries;
- ticket sales or event attendance;
- social media engagement;
- search-engine ranking;
- revenue or commercial results; or
- any particular audience response.
Any information about website traffic, audience size or previous advertising performance is indicative only and is not a guarantee of future results.
21. Submitted Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you submit, subject to the licence granted below.
By submitting text, photographs, images, logos, posters, event details or other material, you grant TangoEvents AU a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
- review and assess the material;
- reproduce and publish it on the website;
- format, crop, resize or make reasonable editorial changes;
- communicate it through newsletters and online channels;
- use it to promote the relevant event, organiser or TangoEvents AU calendar;
- retain reasonable administrative and archival copies; and
- permit our technical service providers to process it for these purposes.
This licence continues while the content is published and for a reasonable period afterwards for backup, recordkeeping, archival and administrative purposes.
We will not sell ownership of your submitted content to another party merely because it was submitted to TangoEvents AU.
22. Your Responsibility for Submitted Material
You must not submit material unless:
- you created it;
- you own the relevant rights; or
- you have permission from the rights holder to submit and publish it.
You must not submit content that:
- infringes copyright, trade mark, privacy or publicity rights;

- contains malicious code or unsafe links;
- misrepresents a person, event, school or organisation;
- uses a person’s image without necessary permission; or
- includes information about a child without appropriate authority.
You are responsible for claims arising from material you submit where the claim results from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful conduct or your failure to obtain required permissions.
23. TangoEvents AU Content
Unless otherwise stated, the design, layout, branding, logos, calendar structure, original written material and other content created by TangoEvents AU are owned by or licensed to the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc.

- commercially exploit our content or database.
24. Permitted Use of the Website

- use organiser details for an unrelated commercial database or mailing list.
25. Automated Access and Scraping
Automated access, scraping, data harvesting, bulk extraction and systematic copying of TangoEvents AU content are prohibited unless we provide prior written permission.
We may use technical measures to detect, limit or block automated, excessive or abusive traffic.
Search engines may index public pages where they comply with our published technical instructions and do not place an unreasonable burden on the website.
Access to a public page does not, by itself, grant permission to systematically reproduce, aggregate, republish or commercially exploit TangoEvents AU calendar data.
26. Third-Party Links and Services
The website may contain links to organiser websites, venues, maps, ticketing platforms, advertisers and other third-party services.
Third-party websites are controlled by their respective operators and may have their own terms, fees, privacy practices and security measures.
TangoEvents AU is not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, transactions or privacy practices merely because a link appears on our website.
You should make your own assessment before using an external service or providing it with personal or payment information.
27. Maps and Location Information
Event maps, addresses and location information may be provided through third-party mapping services.
Maps and directions are provided for convenience only. Users should confirm the exact venue address, entrance, transport arrangements, accessibility and parking information with the organiser or venue.
TangoEvents AU is not responsible for errors in third-party mapping data or directions.
28. Privacy
Our collection, publication, use, storage and disclosure of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
By submitting personal information, you confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy and that you are authorised to provide any information relating to another person.
29. Website Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the website accurate, secure and available. However, we do not guarantee that access will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue a website feature where reasonably necessary for:
- maintenance;
- security;
- software changes;
- legal compliance;
- operational requirements; or
- improvement of the website or its services.
We may also change the format, structure or categorisation of event calendars, organiser pages and related website services.
30. Disclaimer
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, the website and its content are provided on an “as available” basis.
Information published on TangoEvents AU is often supplied by event organisers and third parties. Although we may review, edit and verify information, we cannot guarantee that every listing will always be complete, current or error-free.
Users remain responsible for confirming important event details directly with the organiser before travelling, booking, purchasing tickets or attending.
31. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, TangoEvents AU and the Association of Tango Dancers NSW Inc. will not be responsible for loss or damage caused solely by:
- inaccurate information supplied by an organiser or third party;
- an event cancellation, postponement or venue change;
- the conduct of an organiser, venue, teacher, performer or participant;
- a third-party booking, payment, mapping or website service;
- a user’s failure to verify event information;
- unauthorised or unlawful use of submitted content by a third party;
- temporary website interruption outside our reasonable control; or
- automated copying, indexing or caching by an external service.
Where our liability for a paid service may lawfully be limited, it may, at our reasonable option, be limited to:
- supplying the service again;
- extending the relevant service period;
- providing an equivalent replacement service; or
- refunding the amount paid for the affected part of the service.
32. Responsibility for Breaches
You are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss, cost or claim suffered by TangoEvents AU as a direct result of:
- your material breach of these Terms;
- your unlawful conduct;
- your knowing submission of false or misleading information;
- your infringement of another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights; or
- your failure to obtain permissions that you represented you had obtained.
This provision does not require you to compensate us for loss caused by our own negligence, wrongful conduct or breach of law.
33. Complaints About Listings or Content
You may contact us if you believe that a listing or other material:
- is inaccurate;
- infringes your rights;
- uses your name, image or contact details without authority;
- is misleading or unlawful;
- relates to a cancelled or changed event;
- materially breaches an applicable venue arrangement; or
- breaches these Terms or the Editorial Guidelines.
Please provide enough information for us to identify and assess the material, including the relevant page address and the reason for your concern.
We may temporarily restrict access to disputed content while we make enquiries.
34. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises in connection with TangoEvents AU, the party raising the dispute should provide written notice describing:
- the issue in dispute;
- the relevant facts;
- any supporting information; and

- our website or services;
- our event-listing practices;
- our venue relationships or collaborative arrangements;
- advertising arrangements;
- our Editorial Guidelines;
- technology or security requirements; or
- applicable laws and regulatory guidance.
Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
Material changes affecting an existing paid service will not retrospectively remove rights already agreed for that service unless required by law or agreed with the affected customer.
Your continued use of the website after revised Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for future use.
37. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be read down to the extent reasonably necessary.
If it cannot be read down, it will be severed without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.
38. No Waiver
A failure or delay by TangoEvents AU in enforcing a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
